Letting Go: A Simple Exercise for Trust

Learning to let go of control was one of the most freeing experiences for me. When I stopped trying to direct healing and instead opened myself to it, I discovered a trust in the process that allowed true transformation. Letting go is not about giving up; it’s about allowing healing to occur naturally, without interference.

Here’s a short meditation/exercise to help cultivate this sense of letting go:

  1. Sit comfortably, either seated or lying down. Close your eyes.
  2. Take a deep breath in, slowly exhaling, allowing your body to relax.
  3. Place one hand on your heart and another on your belly. Feel the gentle rise and fall with each breath.
  4. With each inhale, imagine a sense of calm filling your body. With each exhale, release any tension or need for control.
  5. As thoughts arise, simply observe them, letting them float by like clouds. No need to engage, just let them be as they are.
  6. Continue this for a few minutes, being aware of yourself in the simplicity of each breath and the steady certainty of your presence.

This exercise helps us shift from trying to control to simply being receptive, opening ourselves fully to healing.
